The Optima Trackball from Pretorian is a durable desktop trackball designed with the requirements of users with limited motor skills in mind, yet totally suitable for use by a wide range of users. The angled housing provides an ergonomically supportive position for the hand by providing a place to rest during use.

The large 2" diameter trackball rises 0.7" above the trackball housing, presenting a significant profile for the hand to make contact with. The free-running trackball is securely mounted in the housing and offers smooth movement from even a light touch. Tracking is provided by an optical sensor which eliminates mechanical parts which can fail from wear while still offering precise tracking and cursor control.

Colour-coded and recessed control buttons for Left Click, Right Click, and Drag-Lock are positioned above the trackball. The recessed location assists users in guiding their fingers to the appropriate buttons as well as preventing accidental activation that could occur with flush or raised buttons. In addition, the Optima is also equipped with dual ports which accommodate the attachment of external switches for activation of the left and right click functions. These can be used to offer users with limited motor control alternative methods of clicking.

The Rockstick2 Mouse retains all of the benefits and functionality of the original Rockstick Mouse but introduces a new design and added capabilities. As with the original Rockstick Mouse, the Rockstick2 addresses one of the most repetitive activities of computer use--generating mouse clicks. Rather than using one or two fingers to click a button, the user simply rocks the body of the mouse, tilting it slightly to the left or right to generate a click. The strenth of the entire hand can be used to generate the click, rather than the much more limited strength of the index or middle fingers. This makes the Rockstick Mouse2 a potentially good alternative for individuals with trigger finger or arthritis, or for anyone who has difficulty clicking the buttons on a conventional mouse.

The new design is also ambidextrous, enabling both left- and right-handed users to experience the benefits. The scroll wheel is located on the inside of the mouse, where it can be accessed easily by the thumb. This newest model also features variable DPI and a flange to keep the little finger clear of the worksurface. Two size options (Small/Medium and Large) are available. Note: The wired version of the Rockstick Mouse2 has been discontinued by the manufacturer.

The Mousetrapper Advance 2.0 is an inline / central pointing device that uses a steering pad mechanism (a hybrid touchpad/treadmill) for cursor control and left-click actions. The silicone-coated, slip-free steering pad requires only finger-tip pressure and minimal dexterity to control the movement of the cursor. Cursor control is achieved on the Mousetrapper by using the fingertips to move the steering pad itself. This level of functionality can be contrasted with touchpads, where cursor control is achieved by moving the finger tip across a static surface.

The steering pad on the Advance 2.0 offers two dimensional scrolling and rich secondary features such as vertical scroll. A left click can be activated anywhere on the steering pad. Buttons around the steering pad provide quick access to double click, left click, right click and middle click functions.

The Mousetrapper Advance 2.0 features replaceable lycra-covered palm supports and has an attached, flexible gray mat on which to place the keyboard. Like most central pointing devices, the Mousetrapper Advance 2.0 requires no overextension of the shoulder joint, and can significantly reduce the risk of repetitive strain injuries to the muscles of the shoulder and upper back.

The Advance 2.0 differs from the Advance (SMT417) cosmetically by being available in two models with stylish accent colours: white (MT112) or turquoise (MT113). Functional differences include six programmable buttons instead of five — the central button on the Advance has been replaced in the 2.0 with two scroll buttons for up and down. In addition, the palm supports on the Advance 2.0 are replaceable (unlike those on the Advance), which makes cleaning the palm supports much easier.

The Expert Mouse Wired Trackball from Kensington is a well-established and proven mousing solution. The large lightweight 55 mm ball features a silky, smooth movement that offers sufficient resistance without straining the fingers. This smooth movement, combined with Diamond Eye optical technology, ensures precision level cursor control is available for gaming, photo editing, or everyday work. The Expert Mouse Wired Trackball also features a ScrollRing around the base of the ball, giving users easy access to quick scrolling whenever necessary.

Basic mouse click functions are plug-and-play but users also have the option of installing the TrackballWorks software for total customization of the 4 large buttons surrounding the ball. Custom and program-specific commands and macros can be programmed for easy completion without the hand leaving the trackball. The ambidextrous design easily accommodates both right and left-handed use and includes a detachable rest to aid users in maintaining a more ergonomic neutral wrist alignment.

Users who prefer a wireless device may wish to consider the Expert Mouse Wireless and Bluetooth Trackball which offers all of the same functionality as the Expert Mouse Optical but with the addition of both Bluetooth and standard 2.4 Ghz wireless freedom.

The Expert Mouse Wired Trackball will fit most hands. However, if a user has a small hand they may wish to consider the Orbit Trackball with Scroll Ring which features a smaller 40 mm trackball and is better suited for smaller hands.

Kensington has taken their venerable Expert Mouse Optical to a new level with the new Expert Mouse Wireless Trackball. Longtime or novice trackball users now have the freedom of wireless available in a full-size trackball with the additional option of selecting whether to connect via Bluetooth 4.0 LE or traditional 2.4 GHZ wireless using a USB nano receiver. This unique dual-connection feature makes the Expert Mouse Wireless Trackball a good choice for those with a limited number of USB ports or who wish to use the trackball on multiple systems, employing Bluetooth on one and using the RF Receiver on a second or non-Bluetooth compatible system.

The Expert Mouse Wireless Trackball employs Diamond Eye optical technology for smooth, precise tracking and features the well-known Kensington Scroll Ring for quick scroll access on web pages and within lengthy documents. Four large buttons provide easy access to primary functions and can be easily customized to personal preferences through the Kensington TrackballWorks software. The ambidextrous design easily accommodates both right and left-handed use and includes a detachable rest to aid users in maintaining a more ergonomic neutral wrist alignment.

The PC-Trac from Clearly Superior Technologies is a robustly built trackball line offering options and features not readily available in other trackballs. The low profile of the PC-Trac acts as a natural hand rest mirroring the natural contour of your hand and is designed to easily accommodate both right and left-hand users, as well as different size hands.

Unlike most trackballs on the market, the high density phenolic trackball in the PC-Trac has significant inertia. This provides far more tactile feedback than that normally offered trackballs, while still offering smooth response to even a light touch. The PC-Trac also offers "dynamic acceleration" which increases distance covered proportional to the speed of rotation. This feature ensures fine control as well as offering accurate rapid movement when required. (See the Features section on the Detailed Specifications Page for a deeper explanation of this feature.)

PC-Trac basic models offer both "middle click" and "drag lock" functions (see the Features for more details.) On the Pro models this button only supports "middle click" but there is downloadable software available which enables users to customize their trackball features. There is also a 5-button model which offers 2 input jacks for the connection of optional external switches.

The Orbitrack Control Ring from Pretorian provides users who have very limited range of movement or strength with a simple, almost effortless, means to perform cursor movement and click control.

The Orbitrack employs a touch-activated surface similar to a touchpad but without the necessity of continuous finger movement to 'steer' the cursor. Cursor direction is determined by where a finger is placed in relation to a central point in the touch ring. Once contact is made the cursor will begin slowly moving in the desired direction, gradually increasing the selected maximum rate of speed (4 selectable speed options are available). The cursor will continue to travel as long as the finger remains in contact - no further movement is required until a change of direction is desired. Direction change is accomplished by moving the finger to a new location on the control ring. This can be accomplished by breaking contact with the control ring surface and repositioning the finger to steer the cursor in the new direction or by sliding the finger to the new location. Users will vary in their ability to use the second option and may opt for the first method until they learn to better control the movement.

Requiring no hand or wrist movement, the Orbitrack represents a significant advance in computer input technology and is suitable for all computer users, particularly children and those with motor skill difficulties and movement impairment.

The n-ABLER Trackball from Pretorian is specifically designed to address the needs of computer users with limited hand control, motor skill difficulties, poor hand-eye coordination, and lack of manual dexterity. This functionality is packaged in a heavy duty housing designed to survive heavy use. High contrast coloured buttons and trackball assist users in determining position and function of the controls.

The n-ABLER Trackball provides cursor control as well as single-click controls for left click, right click, double click, and drag lock functions. In addition the n-Abler Trackball also offers a "Locking Axis" function which locks the cursor to either vertical or horizontal movement, addressing the difficulty of cursor control for users who experience tremors or may struggle with fine motor control.

Cursor control on the n-ABLER Trackball is provided by a large 63 mm, free-running ball which responds to minimal effort. To avoid accidental movement the trackball projects only slightly above the housing, with the activation buttons fully recessed to avoid accidental activation as well as to aid users in button targeting. Dual mini-phono jacks also permit the attachment of a variety of external switches to provide users with easier access to the Left and Right click functions. Users who find the traditional orientation unsuitable have the option of 'teaching' the trackball to orient itself at 90° increments, freeing the user to change the housing orientation for optimum usage and comfort. The trackball also offers an optional buzzer setting which provides notification as specific functions are activated or deactivated.

The design of the n-ABLER Trackball offers fingertip precision control and requires only minimal hand movement. This can reduce wrist and elbow fatigue, as it requires noticeably less effort. The symmetrical design enables users to work with either hand without having to angle the wrist, and the unit can also be configured for 'left-handed' operation. Its large, integrated hand support/palm rest makes work posture more relaxed and less strained.

The Switch Mouse integrates two major innovations - a V-shaped base, which puts the wrist and forearm into a slightly more natural pronation for left or right-handed users, and the Extender feature which allow the mouse to 'stretch' to provide some adjustment to the length (but not the width) of the mouse. Other features include a built-in palm support to prevent contact stress on the wrist, four-way scrolling dish, and programmable buttons (requires installation of PC drivers) for user-specified functions. This mouse has a 1600 DPI laser sensor and comes only in a corded model (cord is 2 m in length).

The 19-Key USB Numeric Keypad and Optical Mouse from Adesso combines a numeric keypad with a mousing device for those who still need the benefits of a number pad but also need a mouse easily within reach. This device includes a transparent cover for the numeric pad when primarily mousing, so that keys are not accidentally activated during usage. There is a large scroll wheel on the pad when surfing the internet, while the mousing device has 1000 dpi resolution for smooth and accurate cursor control. The keys on the keypad feature a reduced key pitch (i.e. the keycaps and spacing are smaller than on a standard keyboard), allowing the mouse to be a standard size. If the key pitch of the keypad was standard, the mouse would only be usable by users with very large hands.
