The RollerMouse Free3 from Contour Design is part of the RollerMouse family, central pointing devices that are positioned between the operator and keyboard space bar. This keeps all mousing activity "inline" in the area immediately in front of the keyboard, eliminating the need to reach for a mouse. This also makes it suitable for use where there may be insufficient room for a mouse to be placed to the side. Like all RollerMouse products, cursor movement is achieved by manipulating the tube-like cylindrical "rollerbar" with the fingertips. Rotating the rollerbar moves the cursor "up" and "down", and sliding the bar from side to side accomplishes horizontal movement. Rotation and sliding motions can be performed simultaneously for complete and seamless cursor control. Once the desired location is achieved, a left click can be generated by pressing down on the bar, with the force required to do so also being adjustable. The 10" wide rollerbar on the Free3 is the longest of any Rollermouse, and it also has the longest travel path - 14". This allows for a greater range of horizontal cursor movement, less likelihood of reaching the end of the range, and less need to increase pointer speed acceleration. The rollerbar on the Free3 is smaller in diameter than that on the RollerMouse Red and has an even surface, with no raised bumps such as those found on the Red.

A convenient cursor speed button offers ten settings ranging from 600 to 2800 dpi and the Free3 offers on-board configuration for either PC or Mac use, using a simple button combination. Advanced sensor technology ensures precise cursor movements while also providing rapid horizontal movement when multiple screens are in use. Eight pre-programmed buttons (re-programmable via a downloadable driver) and a scroll wheel are located below the bar to generate left/middle/right clicks, copy, paste, back, forward and vertical scrolling.

The Free3 sits just 0.9" high, allowing it to work seamlessly with most standard rectangular-style keyboards without getting in the way while typing. The included keyboard lifters can be installed to optimize use with even the lowest profile keyboards. The RollerMouse Free3 has a comfortable integrated padded palm support for comfort and a weighted aluminum base ensures strength and stability.

The Free3 is available in a standard wired model as well as a wireless* rechargeable version, so that those who want to reduce extra wires or complicated cable management have the option of going wireless. The wireless version has an on/off switch to facilitate additional power savings when the RollerMouse will be unused for extended periods and a convenient storage slot provides secure storage for the USB micro receiver (USB) to ensure it does not get misplaced when not in use.

For those familiar with the earlier Rollermouse Free2, it is important to note that the wrist support on the Free3 cannot be removed.

The Penguin Ambidextrous Vertical Mouse Wireless from Posturite permits either hand to rest comfortably on the base, while maintaining a relaxed vertical orientation alongside the body of the mouse. Because the hand rests on the base and not on the desk, most movement of the mouse is achieved by employing the larger motor muscles in the forearm and upper arm. However, finer cursor control can be still be achieved with small hand and/or finger movements. The ambidextrous design and central "bow-tie" switch allow for easy transitioning between right and left handed use, encouraging load-balancing use throughout the day. The weight of the hand resting on the base ensures easy movement and control, greatly limiting any need to "grip" the mouse, and permits the fingers to remain relaxed while still being in optimal position for clicking. Features include adjustable DPI (400, 600, 800, or 1200), a precision scroll wheel and BioCote, a silver-based antimicrobial coating. The Penguin Mouse is also available in a wired model.

In order to better meet the ergonomic requirements of the broadest range of individuals, the Penguin Mouse is available in 3 sizes - Small, Medium, and Large. This Sizing Chart can assist in determining which model will provide the best fit for those with hands that are evenly proportioned. However, for cases where unusually long fingers or a very broad palm exist, please contact us for sizing assistance.

The Optima Joystick (with Gaming Features) from Pretorian is designed to address the computer access needs of individuals who may have limited hand control or strength, motor skill difficulties, poor hand-eye coordination, and lack of manual dexterity. This functionality is packaged in a heavy duty housing designed to survive heavy use. High contrast coloured buttons and control surfaces aid in determining position and function of the controls.

The Optima Joystick requires just 0.5 Newtons of force for cursor control and has single-click controls for left click, right click, and drag lock functions. The joystick can be outfitted with the standard joystick, a T-Bar handle, or a soft-grip ball. Dual mini-phono jacks also permit the attachment of a variety of external switches to provide easier access to the Left and Right click functions.

The design of the Optima Joystick offers precision control and requires only minimal hand movement or force. The symmetrical design facilates operation with either hand without having to angle the wrist, and the unit can also be configured for left-handed operation. Its large, integrated hand support/palm rest makes work posture more relaxed and less strained.

NEW Feature: While originally intended as a computer access device the Optima Joystick can now be switched between standard computer mode and a new Gaming Mode for full compatibility with the Xbox Adaptive Controller.

Note: The latest release of iOS13 for Apple portable devices includes support for USB Pointing Devices. This means that virtually all of the Pretorian Mouse Replacement solutions can now be used with iPads and iPhones that have iOS13 or newer. Connection to the portable device requires a "camera adapter cable". Because the mousing device will be powered by the phone or tablet it is preferable to use one with pass-through charging so the portable device can charge while the mousing device is attached and in use.

The OptimaX from Pretorian is the first wireless trackball designed specifically for users with motor skill difficulties.

Built on the established platform of its wired counterpart, the OptimaX employs an optical sensor which eliminates mechanical parts which can fail from wear while still offering precise tracking and cursor control. Trackball movement is silky smooth and the stable low profile footprint makes the OptimaX suitable for a wide spectrum of computer users. The extended operating range in excess of 10 metres makes it ideal for use in multi-user settings and classrooms as it can be employed as a desktop or handheld trackball.

Colour-coded and recessed control buttons for Left Click, Right Click, and Drag-Lock are positioned above the trackball. The recessed location assists users in guiding their fingers to the appropriate buttons as well as preventing accidental activation that could occur with flush or raised buttons. In addition, the OptimaX is also equipped with dual ports which accommodate the attachment of external switches for activation of the left and right click functions. These can be used to offer users with limited motor control alternative methods of clicking.

Robustly manufactured, the OptimaX is virtually maintenance free (with the exception of battery replacement) and will give years of untroubled service.

Created for those wanting an ambidextrous, wireless mouse with a more traditional look, this mouse offers a symmetrical design and a centrally located scroll wheel. The n-ABLER Joystick from Pretorian is specifically designed to address the needs of computer users with limited hand control, motor skill difficulties, poor hand-eye coordination, lack of manual dexterity, and muscle spasms. This functionality is packaged in a heavy duty housing designed to survive heavy use. High contrast coloured buttons and control surfaces assist users in determining position and function of the controls.

The n-ABLER Joystick provides cursor control as well as single-click controls for left click, right click, double click, and drag lock functions. In addition the n-Abler Joystick also offers a "Locking Axis" function which locks the cursor to either vertical or horizontal movement, addressing the difficulty of cursor control for users who experience tremors or may struggle with fine motor control.

Cursor control on the n-ABLER Joystick is provided by a joystick control which can be equipped for the individual needs of a user. Included are a standard joystick, a T-Bar handle, and a soft-grip ball. Dual mini-phono jacks also permit the attachment of a variety of external switches to provide users with easier access to the Left and Right click functions. Users who find the traditional orientation unsuitable have the option of 'teaching' the trackball to orient itself at 90° increments, freeing the user to change the housing orientation for optimum usage and comfort. The n-ABLER Joystick also offers an optional buzzer setting which provides notification as specific functions are activated or deactivated.

The design of the n-ABLER Joystick offers precision control and requires only minimal hand movement. This can reduce wrist and elbow fatigue, as it requires noticeably less effort. The symmetrical design enables users to work with either hand without having to angle the wrist, and the unit can also be configured for 'left-handed' operation. Its large, integrated hand support/palm rest makes work posture more relaxed and less strained.

The NiceTouch T2 from Penclic is both a touchpad and palm support, nicely complementing any straight-edged keyboard that does not have built-in palm supports. This unit sits in front of the keyboard, giving quick access to the touchpad when needed, while providing extra support for the palms when typing or resting. This positioning eliminates the need to overreach for the mouse either to the left or right of the keyboard.

The NiceTouch T2 is plug-and-play. Using it is easy and intuitive. An integrated scroll wheel is provided in addition to buttons for Left Click, Right Click, Backward Click, and turning the touchpad On or Off. A small green light indicates the unit is powered. Available in black or white.

The MicroTrac Trackball from Clearly Superior Technologies offers a surprising degree of performance packed into a small package. The diminutive housing means the MicroTrac can easily fit in the palm of the hand, potentially reducing fatigue by reducing the need to reach for a mousing device. Users with average or larger hands may well be able to perform all functions with a single hand, using the thumb for button activation and trackball control. Those with smaller hands will easily be able to perform all functions with two hands since reaching with the thumb may not be sufficient. Alternatively, the MicroTrac can be placed wherever desired and used as a traditional trackball, with rubber feet ensuring secure positioning. The exceptionally compact design also means this device can be used by those with very limited range of movement or even by small children and yet users with large hands can still achieve reasonably effective control without feeling overly constrained by the compact size.

Although the MicroTrac trackball has minimal mass and is therefore unable to 'spin' freely as do its larger PC-Trac and L-Trac cousins, the built-in dynamic motion enhancement provides single-pixel control while still offering rapid movement over greater distances. Rolling the ball faster exponentially increases the cursor speed across the screen, move the ball slowly and you get single pixel accuracy. This three button trackball requires no special drivers or software. The middle button can perform both Drag-Lock and Scroll-Lock functions. An indicator LED notifies users when the Scroll-Lock mode is activated. Load balancing between hands is encouraged by the ability to simultaneously press all three buttons to switch them between Right and Left format.

With the MicroTrac you can work precisely and comfortably for hours at a time. The Drag Lock feature makes this product more comfortable by eliminating the need to hold down a button to highlight or select items. Simply tap the Drag Lock Button and the button stays 'locked' until hit a second time. The MicroTrac also far outperforms similarly-sized trackballs by offering much smoother movement combined with the superior control provided by the Dynamic Motion-Enhancement.

The RollerMouse Pro2 by Contour Design is a central pointing device which uses a rollerbar instead of a traditional mouse and is designed to sit immediately in front of the keyboard below the space bar. This allows one to perform all mousing activity in the area immediately 'below' the keyboard, eliminating the need to reach for a mouse. The RollerMouse Pro2 is best for workspaces with insufficient room for a mouse by freeing up space, providing more room in restricted workspaces.

The cursor is moved by rolling a 'dowel' or cyclindrical control bar with the fingertips to achieve 'up' and 'down' movement, and sliding this bar from side to side for horizontal movement. Once the desired location is achieved, the left click can be generated by pressing down on the bar (the force required for this is adjustable from ultra-light touch to highly tactile). Five buttons and a scroll wheel are located below the bar to generate left/middle/right clicks, copy, paste and vertical scrolling.

The Pro2 comes with adjustable keyboard 'risers' to lift up conventional and compact single piece keyboards. This product does not work well with adjustable or separated keyboards such as the Kinesis Freestyle2 or the Goldtouch keyboard - if you want to use this product with these types of keyboards, we recommend the rubberized RollerMouse Mat accessory or consider purchasing the RollerMouse Free3 or the Rollermouse Re:d.

*** Note: Keyboard not included.

Compare the RollerMouse Pro2 with the RollerMouse Red and the Free2, Mousetrapper Advance Plus, and Mousetrapper Flexible.
