The FlexDesk 640 from Bakker Elkhuizen is a combination inline document holder and writing surface that positions between the keyboard and monitor and provides a large surface on which to store documents for easy access and notation. In order to ensure that overreaching does not occur when making notes, the easel surface can be drawn forward over the keyboard by a full 7.5". The central location, with the easel also providing support for the hand and arm when writing, can significantly reduce the risk of shoulder strain. When keyboard access is again required, the easel is easily slid back for storage where it remains ready for use, held in place by a magnetic lock. The easel edges are softly rounded and a foam pad doubles as a document ledge and a comfortable resting place for the wrist and arm while writing.

The FlexDesk 640 is capable of supporting anything from single pages to books or binders and with a surface space 20" wide and 11.5" deep will easily accommodate the majority of document sizes. The Rite-In-Line Document Holder from Workrite Ergonomics is designed to serve as a document holder and writing surface. While the Rite-In-Line can still be used as a more traditional document holder on the desk - either in-line or to one side (especially the 11" wide model), its key strength comes from its capability of cantilevering over the front of a desk and lowering down above a keyboard tray. The Rite-In-Line comes in two widths, 11" and 17". The 17" is capable of fully supporting two pages, an open binder, or file folders. The 11" width is more practical if there is limited space available. The steel ledge on both models is easily able to support even thick stacks of paper but heavier documents may require a lower viewing angle to ensure stability when cantilevered over the desk. The Rite-In-Line ships with adhesive velcro tabs that can be added to better secure the base in these situations.

The FlexDesk 630N from Bakker Elkhuizen is a combination inline document holder and writing surface that positions between the keyboard and monitor, providing a large surface on which to store documents for easy access and notation. In order to ensure that overreaching does not occur when making notes, the easel surface can be drawn forward over the keyboard by a full 7.5". The central location, with the easel also providing support for the hand and arm when writing, can significantly reduce the risk of shoulder strain. When keyboard access is again required, the easel is easily slid back for storage where it remains ready for use, held in place by a magnetic lock. The easel edges are softly rounded and a foam pad doubles as a document ledge and a comfortable resting place for the wrist and arm while writing.

The FlexDesk 630N is capable of supporting anything from single pages to books or binders and with a surface space 20" wide and 11.5" deep will easily accommodate the majority of document sizes. Even legal-sized documents work as the extra 2.5" will be supported by the base when the easel is drawn down for writing. Ball bearing glides ensure that easel movement is smooth and virtually effortless and grip pads keep the FlexDesk 630N firmly in place as adjustments are made. The base also incorporates a convenient molded storage compartment below the easel for storage of writing utensils or other desk essentials. Adjustable legs provide three options of height adjustment with the angle increasing as height is increased (see Specifications). The MultiRite is an adjustable two-in-one writing surface and document holder which also has the ability to extend towards the user and 'float' over the keyboard without any need for support. The sides of the unit are composed of 2 sturdy plate metal sheets which are riveted at the front to a third centre piece. Side-mounted quick release knobs can be positioned to offer two ranges of adjustment. The lower range offers 8º to 22º of adjustment with the second range extending from 3º to 33º. The rear of the MultRite elevates from 4.7 inches to 6.7 inches or 4.7 inches to 8.25 inches depending on the range selected. The easel is made of rigid frosted acrylic with a 0.2" high metal ledge at the bottom to support documents. Two ball bearing tracks allow the easel to extend forward 6.5" (16.5 cm) along the track in the direction of the user, even able to drop 1.38" below the work surface. This is sufficient to some or all of the keyboard. This accessory eliminates the twisting and overreaching which often results when writing to the side or 'over' the keyboard.

The elevated secondary extendable worksurface provided by the MultiRite gives users the ability to bring a temporary writing surface into their primary comfort zone which is typically occupied by the keyboard, and store it when the task is complete. A magnet prevents unintentional movement of the easel when it is stored, and rubber feet ensure overall stability of the unit. The MultiRite can be used on both single and dual surface worksurfaces as well as workstations with articulating keyboard arms or drawers. It is available in three sizes of varying widths; Standard (20"), Mini (14") and Large (22").

Note: Two styles of Wrist Rest Accessory (sold separately) are available--Gel or Foam. The wrist rest is approximately 9" wide, fits into the pencil groove at the front of the easel, and slides to the other side of the easel when not needed. The Q-Doc Document Holders from Bakker Elkhuizen are elegant, "inline" document holders capable of supporting all kinds of documents, including heavy files and binders. Using the Q-Doc improves body posture and comfort level by centrally positioning documents between the monitor and keyboard, eliminating neck twisting when viewing reference documents. The work surface is fixed in that it cannot be drawn down over the keyboard as can other more versatile holders such as the FlexDesk 640. However, the Q-Doc holders still offer seven possible angle and height settings to align documents for optimal viewing in relation to screen height. The Q-Doc holders can be slid forward over the keyboard when writing or notating needs to be done, eliminating the need to reach forward. Doing this provides support for the hand and arm when writing and can significantly reduce the risk of shoulder strain.

There are two models of the Q-Doc. Model 415 is designed for use with compact keyboards and is 15.35" wide, 10.8" deep and 4.5" high. The larger model 515 will work with both compact and full-size keyboards and is 20.3" wide, 11.4" deep, and 4.7" high. The DocuRite Multi-Position Document Holder and Writing Slope from Posturite combines the functions of an inline document holder and writing surface. It is placed centrally, between the keyboard and monitor. The large surface (19.5" W x 12" D) provides plenty of space on which to store documents for easy access and notation. A lever-operated eccentric cam system lets the angle be increased by elevating the rear to three different heights. In addition a "stepped" front edge accommodates 4 levels of cantilever over the front edge of the desk for locations where a keyboard tray is in use. This offers further options for increasing the angle of the document surface as well as permitting the writing surface to be drawn almost three inches closer.

The ComfortRead provides variable magnification (minimum when centered directly over the line, greater as the magnifier is moved higher), letting the viewer determine what is most comfortable for their eyes and position. In addition, by employing multiple prisms it also facilitates viewing of text that is angled away from the eyes, providing a view that is more natural and with minimized perspective distortion. This economical document holder is a compact, reconfigurable accessory that can accommodate up to an 8.5" x 11" piece of paper when using the flip up wire 'loop'. It is more suitable for smaller documents and the easel doubles as a clear dry erase surface. The document holder will extend 3" below the worksurface; please note however as the unit is lightweight there is minimal counterbalance when being used as a writing surface.
