The SimplyWorks Wireless Trackball from Pretorian combines the established technology and design of the Optima Trackball with the expanded capabilities provided by the SimplyWorks Wireless connection. The SimplyWorks Trackball employs optical sensor technology that eliminates mechanical parts which can fail from wear while still offering precise tracking and cursor control. Trackball movement is silky smooth and the stable low profile footprint makes the SimplyWorks Wireless Trackball suitable for a wide spectrum of computer users. The extended operating range (in excess of 10 metres) makes it ideal for use in multi-user settings and classrooms as it can be employed as a desktop or handheld trackball.
The SimplyWorks Wireless functionality means that this trackball can be combined with any combination of up to 5 other SimplyWorks equipped devices to communicate with a single computer through a SimplyWorks Wireless RECEIVE. This makes it an ideal solution for co-operative learning and interactive multi-user activities.
Colour-coded and recessed control buttons for Left Click, Right Click, and Drag-Lock are positioned above the trackball. The recessed location assists users in guiding their fingers to the appropriate buttons as well as preventing accidental activation that could occur with flush or raised buttons. In addition, the SimplyWorks Wireless Trackball is also equipped with dual ports which accommodate the attachment of external switches for activation of the left and right click functions. These can be used to offer users with limited motor control alternative methods of clicking.
Robustly manufactured, the SimplyWorks Wireless Trackball is virtually maintenance free (with the exception of battery replacement) and will give years of untroubled service.
* SimplyWorks is the world's first fully integrated wireless system designed specifically for users with motor skill difficulties.
Note: The latest release of iOS13 for Apple portable devices includes support for USB Pointing Devices. This means that virtually all of the Pretorian Mouse Replacement solutions can now be used with iPads and iPhones that have iOS13 or newer. Connection to the portable device requires a "camera adapter cable". Because the mousing device will be powered by the phone or tablet it is preferable to use one with pass-through charging so the portable device can charge while the mousing device is attached and in use. In the case of the SimplyWorks solutions, the Receive:2 is still required to support the pointing device connection. The Receive:2 plugs into the camera adapter cable and provides the wireless connection to the pointing device.

The PC-Trac from Clearly Superior Technologies is a robustly built trackball line offering options and features not readily available in other trackballs. The low profile of the PC-Trac acts as a natural hand rest mirroring the natural contour of your hand and is designed to easily accommodate both right and left-hand use, as well as different size hands.
Unlike most trackballs on the market, the high density phenolic trackball in the PC-Trac has significant inertia. This provides far more tactile feedback than that normally offered trackballs, while still offering smooth response to even a light touch. The PC-Trac also offers "dynamic acceleration" which increases distance covered proportional to the speed of rotation. This feature ensures fine control as well as offering accurate rapid movement when required. (See the Features section on the Detailed Specifications Page for a deeper explanation of this feature.)
PC-Trac basic models offer both "middle click" and "drag lock" functions (see the Features for more details.) On the Pro models this button only supports "middle click" but there is downloadable software available which enables individuals to customize their trackball features. There is also a 5-button model which offers 2 input jacks for the connection of optional external switches.
The PC-Trac is now available from PI Engineering as the X-Keys O-Trac

The TrackMan Marble from Logitech is a space-saving ambidextrous trackball with a well-established record. Somewhat unique to the TrackMan Marble is the forward placement of the 40 mm trackball which sees the ball positioned almost at the very front of the unit. This puts it directly under the fingertips of the ring, index and middle fingers, freeing users to employ any or all of these in providing cursor control. The long Left and Right click buttons are located further back along the sides of the trackball body, providing easy access for the thumb and ring or pinky finger. Small inset secondary buttons offer web browser Backward and Forward commands. Cursor control on the Trackman Marble is very smooth and accurate, with the ball weighing enough that response is easily controlled. The weight of the ball is also great enough to enable users to "spin" it for rapid movement across large areas or multiple screens.
The narrow design of the TrackMan Marble is best suited to users with small to average-sized hands as those with larger or wider hands may tend to "pinch" the trackball in order to maintain placement. However, the length of the body and the primary buttons does mean that users with longer hands can accomplish excellent cursor control while still easily performing click actions.
Some users may find the absence of a dedicated scroll feature on the TrackMan Marble less than ideal. However this concern can to a great extent be addressed by installing and running the customization software available from Logitech which can enable the trackball to be used as a scrollwheel (on PCs) or the Back/Forward buttons as Scroll Up/Down (on MACs).
Note:Unlike many trackballs, the ball on the Trackman Marble is easily removed from the housing for cleaning.

The M570 Wireless Trackball takes most of the repetitive movements and strain which the entire hand usually must perform and allocates all the workload to the thumb of the user. Accurate optical tracking is provided by a 570 DPI laser sensor housed below the ball. With a contoured body that provides a relaxing support for the hand, the M570 is equipped with a scroll wheel and right and left click buttons, all positioned as with a traditional mouse. In addition there are Back and Forward Buttons for convenience when browsing through multiple pages.
Connection is via a storable USB mini receiver and a single AA battery can provide up to 18 months of service. A battery life indicator will advise when the battery needs replacing. Software available from Logitech enables users to customize their trackball functions and performance.
Note: As the M570 places the workload fully upon the thumb, (which on most other trackballs is generally shared amongst several fingers), anyone who has existing thumb issues would be well-advised to consider alternative solutions.

The L-Trac Switch Adapted from Clearly Superior Technologies features the high performance and robust build for which the original PC-Trac line is well-known. The L-Trac features an optical laser sensor which offers "button selectable" tracking resolutions of 400, 800 and 1600 CPI, easily changed on the fly. Combined with this is the ability of the L-Trac to track at speeds exceeding 30 inches per second, even at a 20G acceleration rate. The scroll wheel is smooth and readily accessible, located above the center button. Unique to the Switch Adapted version of the L-Trac is the availability of three jacks which support connection of external switches. Connecting an external switch deactivates the on-board switch for that function - a feature which can be of benefit when seeking to eliminate accidental button activation. This means that the click activations can be performed from alternate locations more advantageous to the user.
The L-Trac provides users with a precision, high performance pointing device. The large 57 mm diameter weighted trackball produces predictable, quick, and precise cursor control. Most users will find that movement becomes intuitive within a few minutes of use, with the level of control increasing over time.
The level of performance and range of features, coupled with the proven contour of the L-Trac makes these trackballs an appropriate option for all applications including general computing, gaming and Computer Aided Design (CAD). CAD users love it because you can drag a line one pixel even on high resolution displays. Then, with a button stroke, they can fly around the screen to get general tasks done. Gamers have called it an "almost unfair advantage", citing the fingertip control and precision, high performance tracking.
Designed to minimize the effects of contamination build up and the resultant degradation of performance, this high performance laser trackball uses highly polished stainless steel rollers. It has been found by CST that the "ruby ball sliders" used in most optical trackballs, cause performance degradation when gunk builds up on them. The L-Trac uses mirror polished stainless steel rollers that do not readily collect unwanted material and are easily cleared by spinning the ball rapidly. The Dupont Delrin bearings are embedded with Teflon and internally coated with a lifetime lubricant making the feel of this trackball extremely smooth and it's reliability very robust. The user-replaceable stainless steel rollers are extremely tough and designed to handle hard usage yet still provide users with controlled smooth movement.

The KidTrac Switch Adapted trackball from Clearly Superior Technologies offers alternative clicking options available to users who may struggle with fine motor control. It features 3 jacks which permit the attachment of external control switches which can be placed where best suited to the needs of the individual user.
The bold bright colours—Yellow trackball with Red, Green and Blue buttons—is just a disguise for a highly functional trackball with capabilities suited to all ages. All of the basic features of the basic KidTrac—high density 2.5" diameter phenolic trackball for tactile feedback and smooth response, light touch buttons, safely secured trackball so missing trackballs or broken windows are not an issue, low profile housing, ambidextrous feature, 'Dynamic Acceleration', Drag Lock and Scroll Lock—are available on the Switch Adapted version.

The KidTrac trackball from Clearly Superior Technologies may be look like it is for children but users shouldn't be fooled by outward appearances. The bold bright colours—Yellow trackball with Red, Green and Blue buttons—is just a disguise for a highly functional trackball with capabilities suited to all ages.
Unlike most trackballs on the market, the high density 2.5" diameter phenolic trackball in the KidTrac has significant inertia. This provides far more tactile feedback than that normally offered with other trackballs, ensuring smooth response to even a light touch and requiring minimal dexterity of the fingers. Since the entire hand can be engaged in performing the trackball movements, the PC-Trac is a good solution for those who may have weakness or damage to the fingers, or for those who are seeking to avoid potential Repetitive Strain Injuries. Unlike some other trackballs, the trackball in the KidTrac is also safely secured in the housing to ensure that it cannot be easily removed, either by accident or deliberate action so missing trackballs or broken windows are not an issue.
The KidTrac also offers 'Dynamic Acceleration' which increases distance covered proportional to the speed of rotation. This feature ensures fine control as well as offering accurate rapid movement when required. (See the Features section on the Detailed Specifications Page for a deeper explanation of this feature.) Since the low profile of the KidTrac housing acts as a natural hand rest, mirroring the natural contour of your hand, it can also reduce the risk of the wrist being inappropriately positioned and being injured as a result. The special 'Ambidextrous Trackball' feature allows switching from left to right-handed use by simultaneously pressing all 3 buttons, without the need to change system settings.
Users with vision limitations can especially benefit from the extra-large brightly coloured design which serves as an aid to clearly identify the button locations and functions. The light activation force and large dimensions of the buttons also mean that anyone with limited strength will be able to perform clicks as easily as any user. Users with motor function limitations may be interested in the Switch-Adapted version of the KidTrac which has three jacks for the connection of accessibility switches to provide easier access to the button functions.
