The Mobis Seat is part of the next generation of lean-to (or -into) stools. Its unique design permits 6º of pivoting movement in all directions through a secure pivot point at the base. Rather than simply reducing the workload on the legs by taking the weight of the upper body (which traditional lean-to stools accomplish), this pivoting capability allows the Mobis to move with users as they perform tasks. This light-weight, elegant, grab-and-go version of the Locus Seat supports the body in a relaxed, upright posture. The Mobis Seat has a range suitable for people from 4'11" to 6'8" tall. Dual lift controls let it be easily adjusted for work surfaces of varying heights. The small footprint of the Mobis also makes it ideal for anyone creating a workstation that includes sitting or standing. By providing an in-between seating option for short-term tasks, the transition to a standing position becomes almost effortless. The Mobis offers enough support to keep fatigue at bay, while still allowing the user to rotate a full 360º, to turn from side to side, and to flex forward, backward and laterally. The Mobis is ideal for bistro and raised conference room table applications. Offering many real ergonomic benefits and improved comfort, the Mobis is also a uniquely styled seating option that will make a positive statement about the workplace, as well as the occupant of the workstation.
All Mobis Seats feature a Black base with Silver gas lift. The four available colours of seat (Black, Chili Pepper Red, Citrus Orange, and Blue) let users select the model which best suits their environment.
Mobis users might consider adding the Focal Foot Bar, to their workstation. The Focal Foot Bar is designed for users who would like to brace their feet against a sturdy, slip-free support when working at a sit-stand workstation, or who would like to prop one foot up from time to time when standing to alleviate strain on the lower back.
Caution: Focal Upright recommends against using the Mobis Seat with a standard foot rest, especially those with non-locking foot platforms.

The RISON Sit-Stand Stool (Classic) from Mey Chair Systems offers users the option of intermittently adopting a sitting position throughout the workday. Employing the RISON to bear the bulk of body weight permits the feet and legs to rest, reducing fatigue and potentially contributing to a more alert user.
The non-vertical, or leaning, stance effectively reduces the weight load on the joints of both the legs and the feet as the stool, rather than the legs and feet, becomes the load bearing support. The ability to position the seat in an elevated position also significantly reduces the effort required to return to a fully standing position. The shock absorbing effect of the easily adjusted gas cylinder provides additional comfort when the user sits down.
The non-pivoting seat offers an infinitely adjustable height range from 26" - 35.5" - suitable for users from about 5'2" up to 6'6". The polyurethane seat provides a firm yet cushioned seating surface with raised texture bumps. The detachable back support is also formed from the same foam as the seat. (Note: The back on the 11120 has a 2.5" deep curvature in the middle, is 14" wide, and has firm edges. Some users with broader frames may find the back on this model too narrow and deep for a comfortable fit. As an alternative they may wish to consider the EZSIT Comfort Elite Sit-Stand Stool , also from Mey Chair Systems, which offers a broader back (and seat) better suited to users of larger build.)
While the seat does offer the option of tilting it to accommodate a "leaning" position rather than the seated position the fact that the back support on this model is rigidly mounted to the tilting mechanism means that it is really only suitable for upright sitting (ie. when tilted the back follows the movement of the seat and prevents the adoption of a proper upright stance. Users wishing to use this seat as a "leaning" seat should consider the current model of the RISON which now incorporates independent back angle adjustment into the seat mechanism. The current seat-only version of the RISON is also available in two height ranges to accommodate the varying needs of users.
The heavy-duty textured black tubular steel base on the RISON Sit-Stand Leaning Stool is designed for industrial settings but functions well in many offices, providing strength and stability. Strong nylon glides engage the floor to ensure firm positioning of the seat and the incorporated rollers permit the chair to be easily moved between workstations. The unique design of the base maximizes stability while greatly reducing the risk of tripping for passersby.

The Pivot Seat from Focal Upright Furniture builds on the proven designs of the Mobis and Mogo seats by incorporating features from both of these models. The rounded pivot base ensures that the user is actively engaged with the Pivot throughout the day. The Pivot Seat offers a much greater degree of movement than the Mobis as users can also freely rotate up to 360º, leaning or pivoting as desired. As with the Mogo there is no fixed base to force the user to remain facing a specific direction - rotating or pivoting to another direction can be done at will. The rubber "Octogrip Overmold" on the base ensures that a user is secure in whatever posture they adopt. However, unlike the Mogo which cannot stand on its own, the Pivot Seat features a weighted base which automatically returns the seat to an upright position - ready for the next use.
The bowl-shaped weighted base of the Pivot Seat also exerts a subtle force, encouraging a user to maintain a degree of active tension in the core muscles to maintain the desired optimum position. This also means that users who wish to be active while sitting can easily employ the range of movement the Pivot offers to achieve this goal. The wide range of height adjustment and the ability to angle the seat by tilting forward enables the user to easily choose between active sitting and leaning (or any posture between).
The thick EVA Foam cushion on the Pivot Seat features built-in sitz bone contours for support and a waterfall edge to reduce pressure on the upper legs and promote healthy circulation.
NOTE: ErgoCanada does not recommend the Pivot Seat for use on hardsurface floors such as hardwood, linoleum or tile. Users may find that the base "walks" away from them as they lean and move. It does not have any issues on any type of carpeted floor or mat.
