This keyboard features an 88/89 key keyboard with an embedded numeric keypad and 12 dedicated function keys, giving you the full function of 104/105 keys. Two USB ports accommodate connection of other devices. The horizontal key pitch and size is normal however the vertical key pitch and size is 75% of normal. In addition the space bar on this keyboard is very narrow (only 2" wide).

Note: The driver for the hot keys is compatible up to Windows XP and function on more current versions cannot be guaranteed. The built-in hot keys are designed to provide multimedia access to Volume up, Volume down, Mute, Forward, Backward, Stop, Play/Pause, Eject, and Sound Recorder and quick access to WEB, E-mail, Calculator, Game, WebTV and Video.

This second generation Compact Financial Scissor-Switch Membrane Keyboard from Solidtek features standard keys (both key pitch and key cap size) throughout all primary keys. The only exception to this are the function keys which are slightly narrower and only half the standard height. The discrete numeric keypad on the right-hand side is ideal for those who require it for numeric data entry.

At just 15.125" (38.4 cm) in width, this keyboard is roughly 2.75" narrower on the right side than the average conventional keyboard. This significantly reduces the overreaching that can occur when accessing a mouse on the right, while yet retaining all standard keyboard keys/functionality. The sleek housing offers a slim 0.39" profile at the front with a slight incline to 0.5" at the rear, which reduces the potential for discomfort arising at the wrists.

The keyswitches are high quality scissor-switch membrane keyswitches with comparatively long travel for this type of switch (2.8 mm), and the keycap tops are slightly concave to assist typists in maintaining finger contact.

Those who may have experience with the earlier version of this keyboard should take note that there are a couple of significant changes in the keys. The first is that the DEL key is no longer in the upper right corner, having been moved down to the right of the spacebar adjacent to the INS key. As well, the navigation keys (up, down, left, right "arrows") are now full size keys (as opposed to a half-height key as they were on the original), with the right "Shift" key slightly reduced in width to accommodate the up arrow key.
