The FastForward 3-Mode Vertical Mouse from Bakker Elkhuizen positions the hand rotated upward and outward to a more vertical angle which reduces pronation. By moving away from the traditional palm-down position, the strain on the soft tissues of the forearm can be greatly reduced. The body of the FastForward is also designed to provide a comfortable supportive structure for the hand, encouraging the adoption of a position where the fingers relax to curl and rest naturally over the buttons. The angled position and the support offered to the hand encourage mouse movement from the arm rather than the wrist, encouraging a more neutral alignment of the wrist while working.
The FastForward is capable of connecting via Bluetooth (supports 2 device connections), 2.4 GHz wireless (using the included USB-C receiver which stores in the mouse), or as a corded mouse when using the dual-purpose USB-C charging/data cord. Note that the FastForward is USB-C native but can be used with an adapter (not included) to connect to a USB-A port. The rechargeable battery offers an average of 4-months of use between charges.
NOTE: DO NOT attempt to charge the FastForward using a Quick Charger (see manual for details)
The FastForward has five sensor settings ranging from 1000-5000 DPI. These allow for fine-tuning cursor sensitivity to match work requirements or individual control preference. It is also equipped with a weighted metal scroll wheel that is easily spun to instantly jump to the start or end of documents or web pages, can be used for traditional scrolling with lightly detectable tactile detents, or can be clicked to use the mouse to scroll vertically. It is also equipped with Back and Forward buttons, a Productivity Button that instantly opens the Task Window, and a dual function multi-colour DPI/Battery Warning Indicator light. The underside of the mouse gives access to the wireless mode switch and a power switch that is selectable for Windows or Mac use as well an having an OFF setting to extend battery life. | Ergonomic Benefits |

Reduces Pronation - The traditional pronated "palm down" position that traditional mice require causes one of the two bones in the forearm to rotate over the other. This position, when sustained or when adopted too frequently, puts significant stress on the muscles, tendons and other soft tissues of the forearm as well as on the elbow joint. The FastForward 3-Mode Vertical Mouse is designed to address this unhealthy pronation by rotating the hand (and forearm) to a 75° slope. This allows individuals to mouse more comfortably with the forearm bones and tissues in a more anatomically neutral position. Learn More About Pronation
Reduces Risk of Trigger Finger - The FastForward 3-Mode Vertical Mouse has natural contours that offer support to the hand and fingers. This lets them always be "at rest" between clicks, eliminating the “hovering” in anticipation of the next mouse click. Hovering places a great deal of strain on the small muscles and tendons in the back of the hand and can cause extreme pain and loss of dexterity. Learn More About Trigger Finger.
Can Reduce the Risks Associated with Wrist Extension - Traditional mice require that the hand be in a facedown position on the mouse. There is a tendency to plant the heel of the hand on the desk surface and then attempt to move the mouse with the thumb and pinkie or ring fingers. This puts the wrist into a position of extension which can lead to painful RSI. The 75° angle of the FastForward 3-Mode Vertical Mouse rotates the hand away from the desk, thus discouraging this "planting" action. Because the mouse moves very naturally from this position there is little encouragement to be actively using the wrist, with most cursor movement arising from the arm itself. Learn More About Wrist Extension..
Reduces Strain on the Fingers and Elbow - The large left and right buttons are designed to permit the fingers to curl naturally around the mouse without engaging either the extensor or flexor muscles. This relaxed position reduces irritation of the ulnar nerve that runs through the hand and the elbow, reduces strain on the muscles and tendons of the hand and fingers, and facilitates clicking with minimal movement at the finger joints.
Cursor Stability - Because the thumb is positioned to naturally oppose the finger movements, and the hand is only angled to just 75° the clicking action is still directed partially downward towards the surface. This reduces the potential for lateral movement to occur when clicking
Accurate Cursor Control - The 5-level sensor (1000-5000 DPI) offers both accuracy and performance. Switching is done via the DPI button directly behind the scroll wheel.

- Sloped Design: The FastForward mouse is angled at 75° to almost eliminate pronation and creates a comfortable, more anatomically neutral position for the hand, wrist, forearm and elbow joint.
- Large, Naturally Aligned Buttons: The buttons are aligned with the natural position the fingers will adopt when resting against the mouse. The curvature of the mouse and buttons provides support, letting the fingers relax and be at rest. This design eliminates the hovering over the buttons that can lead to the development of Trigger Finger.
Learn More About Trigger Finger. - Comfortable Housing: The softly-rounded contours on the Fast Forward 3-Mode Vertical Mouse let the hand rest comfortably while offering sufficient contact to easily control cursor movement.
- Adjustable DPI Settings: Pointer speed is adjustable to 1000, 1600, 2400, 3200, or 5000 DPI using the button directly behind the scroll wheel.
- Productivity Button: The top of the mouse has a "Productivity Button" that opens the Task Window.
- DPI/Battery Level Indicator: A small multi-color indicator LED on the top of the mouse serves as an indicator for both DPI settings and Battery levels.
- Back/Forward Buttons: Thumb-accessed Back/Forward buttons let one move back and forth within documents or web browsers for more efficient work or browsing.
Note: On Mac systems these work to move back and forth between Applications. - 3 Connection Modes: The FastForward 3-Mode Vertical Mouse is capable of three different connections. For Bluetooth enabled devices there are two channels that can be paired to 2 different devices, selectable via the switch on the underside. The mouse is also equipped with a USB-C 2.4 GHz wireless receiver dongle (stored in the underside) for wireless connection to devices that are not Bluetooth enabled. The wireless receiver can also be used to have switchable wireless connection between mixed devices. And, when charging is required but only a single port is available, the cord doubles for both charging and data transfer.
Note: Bluetooth connection remains possible while charging. - Weighted Free-Spinning Clickable Scroll Wheel: Jump to the top or bottom of pages with a single spin of the wheel. The wheel also has soft detents to provide tactile feedback when using for gradual scrolling. And the scroll-wheel is also clickable to access the Auto Scroll vertical scrolling.
- Windows/Mac Switchable: The power switch on the underside sets the mouse for Windows PC or Mac use and also turns the Fast Forward fully off to save battery power.

| Usage Tips |

- Charging Warning! Charging of the FastForward should only be done via a computer USB port or with a compatible 5.0V charger. DO NOT< attempt to charge using a fast charger.
- The FastForward is designed for primary cursor movement to be generated primarily by the arm rather than the hand and fingers. By engaging the entire arm the strain on the fingers and hand is most eliminated. Doing this also aids in maintaining a neutral (straight) alignment of the wrist and forearm. Finer small movements can be achieved by slight deflection of the wrist and flexing of the fingers.
- Ensure that your worksurface is positioned at a height which maintains the "neutral" or "straight" line through the wrist and forearm. Ergonomically this is the ideal posture and may require adjustment of either the surface height (where possible) or of your chair height. It is especially important to ensure that the surface where the mouse is located is not too high as this will either be forcing the shoulder up unnaturally or the arm will be angled over the rigid edge, creating a pressure point. Either of these are undesirable and can significantly increase the risk of developing Repetitive Strain Injuries. The 75° outward rotation achieved by the FastForward lets the elbow remain closer to the body. If you find that your elbow is "flared" outward you may wish to consider whether to lower the desk or raise your chair to achieve a more ergonomic position. The other reason for a flared elbow may be the reach across the numeric keypad. There are keyboard options available which either move the numeric keypad to the left or totally eliminate it for those who make limited use of the numeric keypad or who can learn to employ the standard keyboard upper rank numeric keys.
- One of the most common causes of RSI is the "repetitive" nature of the actions undertaken. Extensive mousing (or keyboarding) without breaks can be the trigger which releases a full-blown RSI. Even the most ergonomic of mice or keyboards cannot change this reality. Make a point of taking regular breaks throughout the day. A quick stretch or short change of function may be all that is required to avoid possible painful consequences.
